
Matthew Lawrence faced a decade of fear in competition “A masked singer.”
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Lawrence explained that over the past decade he spent avoiding roles that required him to sing in front of a large crowd.
“When it comes to singing in front of a large audience, I have a bit of a stage horror. Believe it or not. And acting is completely different to me,” he explained.

Lawrence has shared the story of an “Crazy” Broadway audition in the past. There, they had to run behind the scenes without saying anything in front of a packed crowd.

“I spent the last decade or so saying no to singing. I was really acting out of fear,” Lawrence said.
“I was saying no to singing for the last decade or so, but I was really acting out of fear.”

“And the people around me were like, ‘What are you doing?’ You got this podcast and you have no fear, as you know your own advice.

There was a moment on the show where Lawrence shook and “sweats the bullet” and he finally managed to put his nerves aside and enjoy the moment.
“There was a moment when the fear went away. I was singing for the first time with the audience. Man, it’s like lightning bolts of a bottle. It’s so cool, I loved the experience, it was amazing,” Lawrence said.

On Wednesday night, Lawrence was announced as Fox’s “Masked Singer” as a walking camera papalazzo.
Lawrence told Fox News Digital that he would have “never” gone to the show if he wasn’t hidden, and he loved his character.
“I had a costume, I mean, I had a giant duck rubber leg, so the choreography was mostly out the window.

“And I had this huge soap box with head attached to my torso. So the whole movement and it’s unstable. I mean, I might have overcome it. I’m very fortunate that.

Aside from singing in costume, Lawrence also hosts “Brotherly Love” podcast With his two brothers – Joey Andrew Lawrence.

The most challenging thing for Matthew is scheduling time with his siblings once a week.

“It’s like grazing a cat,” he joked.

“And the other side of it is to avoid the tables every week at least. This is pretty cool. We’re always exploding. It was important to get the band back in, so to speak, after Covid,” Lawrence said.
All the Lawrence brothers had a career in television. The three of them appeared in “Brotherly Love,” which aired from 1995 to 1996.
