Billy Joel’s His wife, Alexis Roderick Joel, talks about her journey with endometriosis.
Married to the 75-year-old rock legend since 2015, Alexis struggled with weakening symptoms, misdiagnosis and failed surgery, and later discovered that tissue resembling the lining of the uterus suffers from frequent misunderstandings outside the uterus.
While Alexis was battling a disease that was unknown at the time and experiencing chronic pain, she also raised two young children and raised Billy while performing at concerts around the world.

Alexis continued.
“Fortunately, when he’s on tour, we have a lot of support, but that really helped,” and it was huge. So I’m lucky in that I have someone to help me. And you will reach your limits, so you have to. In other words, there’s nothing you can do. ”
The singer of “Piano Man” with Alexis is 9, Remy and 7, who share their daughter, Della. Christie Brinkley, 71.

Alexis explained that it was a particularly rewarding time, as neither she nor Billy knew what was causing it. Her symptoms.
“We all went into this without knowing anything about this, like most of us do,” she explained. “And that’s difficult because I know I wasn’t feeling well.”

“I think he’ll send me something like that in less than millions of years, but when you see someone suffering, you pick it up. You have to. That’s what we do, we’re family.”

Over the past few months, Billy has been struggling with her health challenges.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Alexis shared an update on her husband’s health.

“He’s fine,” she said. “It’s funny, I was having this conversation the other day. He’s going to be 76. And I don’t think of him that way. People don’t think of him, but he does.
“With the exception of Covid, he has been working every two weeks for over 15 years,” continued Alexis. “And there’s a lot. There’s a time when you can’t always plan what you need a year and a half in advance. And that’s how long are these schedules? That’s when you book things.
“So sometimes Your health “But things have to be postponed,” she pointed out. So it’s important that you know, we need him, so he has to do what he has to do. I had to do what I had to do. Now he has to do what he has to do. ”

Alexis, who is normally in the spotlight, was first published in Health Wars in a post shared on Billy’s Instagram page during Endometriosis Awareness Month in March.
She posted a photo of herself posing with Dr. Tamar Sekokin, who described her as “Angel of Earth” in the caption. Seckin is a New York-based gynecologist, laparoscopic surgeon and endometriosis specialist, co-founded the American Endometriosis Foundation (Endfound) with celebrity chef Padma Lakshmi in 2009.
“We all have a story of war. It’s no different to me either. After years of pain, misdiagnosis, failed surgery, and internal bleeding continued, and most importantly, the doctor told me I was fine, I ran the gamut from ‘It’s All Your Head’ to ‘Just get a hysterectomy’. ”

She continued, “I went to the third ER out of unbearable pain. I wasn’t working. This is the moment when I was just starting to study experts and everything was directed at me at him.”

“One operation, 27 lesions were removed, fewer appendixes and the entire abdominal cavity removed this terrible disease. I am forever grateful,” added Alexis. “The work he does at the Endometriosis Foundation in America is extremely important to this fight. They work to raise awareness, to provide education in schools and continue researching the next generation. Our family personally supported this job.
On May 1, Billy joined Alexis at a press conference to announce the grand opening of the Seckin Endometriosis Center for Women’s Health at the Cold Spring Harbor Institute (CSHL). Endofound and CSHL have partnered to establish a centre named after Seckin. According to a press release, it is the first dedicated endometriosis research center within the major US basic science institutions.

Billy later posted a photo of the event on his Instagram page, pointing out in the caption that the Joel Foundation, which he co-founded with Alexis, supports Endofound’s work.
It is estimated that endometriosis affects more than one in 10 women of reproductive age. There are over 200 million people worldwide. Surgery can help reduce pain caused by endometriosis, but symptoms may eventually return. There is currently no treatment for endometriosis.
