“Unfortunately, those expectations were not respected during the interview. I was surprised when an unrelated topic was introduced. I repeatedly expressed my word to reporter Tony Docpile and producers who wanted the conversation to be the center of the book,” the coach said.
“After this happened several times, Jordon, who shares both personal and professional relationships, repeated the points to focus on the discussion, she worked to get the interviews off the ground rather than diverting specific questions or topics.
“The final eight-minute segment doesn’t reflect the productive 35-minute conversation we had. It covers a wide range of topics related to my career. Instead, I present selectively edited clips and stills for just a few minutes of interviews to suggest false stories.
CBS responded to Belichick’s statement later on Wednesday.

“When I agreed to speak to Mr. Belichick, it was for a wide range of interviews,” the company said. “There were no prerequisites or restrictions on this conversation, which was repeatedly confirmed with his publisher after the interview was conducted and after it was completed.”
