
Former President Joe Biden He took a shot with the Trump administration’s Social Security policy in his first major speech since leaving the White House on Tuesday evening.
“Seriously, people are truly worried that Social Security benefits could be delayed or suspended for the first time in history, for the only time in history,” Biden said from advocates, counselors and representatives of the ACRD Conference held in Chicago on Tuesday evening.
“Ninety years later, people have been constantly undergoing Social Security checks since Franklin Roosevelt created the Social Security system. They acquired them during the war, during the recession, and during the pandemic.
The ACRD Conference was billed as the first public speech of the 46th President After leaving the White House. Biden continued that the Trump administration is said to be trying to “destroy” Social Security in order to “take it away.”
“My friend, Governor O’Malley, knows what they’re really doing, he says, and I love his quote. They can take it away.
“What they always do… by running the debt of the people, number one. And by taking money from elsewhere. What are the two big money in the raw numbers? Social Security and Medicaid. … Republicans, who do they think to make sure that these people willingly hurt the middle and working classes and deliver a fair, greater wealth to the already wealthy?” he said.

Former Senator Debbie Stavenow, D-Mich. and former Democrat Maryland Governor and Social Security Administrator Martin O’Malley also attended the event. O’Malley presented ACRD’s “Beacon of Hope” to Biden for his performance as president, including fighting for leadership during the pandemic and for “dignity of all.”
Biden added that the nation will be “divided” under Trump and cannot continue on the same path.
“We cannot continue this way as a divided country like this. Like us, I have done this for a long time. This has never been divided.
The Trump administration’s official Social Security X account includes Trump repeatedly pledging to protect his bounty, following a speech that “Biden is lying to Americans,” before providing a detailed list of “facts,” including that field offices have not been closed since January 20th.
“SSA is taking common sense steps to transform how we serve the public. Last month we spent $16.5 million on modernizing telephone services across the country. We are developing cutting-edge AI-powered tools to streamline simple tasks,” the thread continued. “The general report from the SSA Inspector was released while Joe Biden was president and discovered an inappropriate payment of $72 billion between 2015 and 2022.”
The event occurs when a political book examining the 2024 campaign cycle hits the shelf. Includes “The Unknown: How Trump defeated Biden, Harris in the Wildest Campaign in History” and “The Battle: The Wildest Battle for the White House.”
