Athletics Center Fielder Denzel Clark doesn’t know how to make incredible plays in the outfield, but what he did to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night put him in the “Catch of the Year” conversation.
Clark flipped through the center field fence and lobed. Nolan Chanuel the Angel A solo home run that surprised the crowd and everyone watching in the process.
Even Chanuel was in awe as Clark reduced the wall, caught the entire top half above the wall, and went round around to walk back to step into the warning truck.

Naturally, Clark made a roar as he returned to the field of play, as after he pulled away from its rare catch.
“What a god!” said one of the track and field announcers as Clark played miraculously. “I’ve heard the list. I’ve seen the list of the biggest catches you’ve ever tried to see in your life. If there’s no room for this on your list, we’re looking at two different sports.”

This catch from Clark came a few days after he made another heart-warming play at his Athletics home in Sacramento Baltimore Orioles.

Clark was forced to hit the Jets into the field in the middle left as Jorge Mateo rocked the ball towards the wall. Clark never slowed his steps as he reached out to catch him, and he paid the price as he slammed onto the fence to finish the innings. This play also kept A’s lead 4-3.
For Clark, the game at Anaheim on Monday night was 16th in track and field as it began its season in Triple A.
But the 25-year-old certainly has a defensive name in his first coffee in the big leagues.
