Archaeologists recently excavated Ancient Roman baths In Türkiye, the older the more luxurious it is.
This finding was covered by the Turkish Anadolu Agency (AA). Landowners in the area had planted sour cherry saplings when they came across a Roman floor mosaic in 2023.
Thanks to the underground imaging grader, archaeologists have discovered the bathhouse about 230 feet south of the mosaic.

The 75-square-meter structure dates back to the late Roman period.
It had an underfloor heating system and a distinctive cold, warm, hot zone – The ancient equivalent of modern spas, AA pointed out.

The bathhouse also featured sweat chambers for clean water and wastewater, a pool and separate waterways.

Ahmet Demilda, the provincial director of the Cultural and Tourism, told AA the baths and mosaics are just a few of the “important ruins” in the area.
“The bath is truly a unique and important structure.”
“Overall, looking at it, I believe the area is an urban settlement,” observed Demilda.
“We’ll continue to excavate.”

Excavation Site Archaeologist Emlechild told AA that the baths are likely the first kind in the area.
