Los Angeles Angels Manager Ron Washington has announced that he will remain on medical leave for the remainder of the 2025 season due to unspecified medical issues.
Washington, 73, on the sidelines last week after experiencing shortness of breath at the end of the Angels series. New York Yankees It ended on June 19th.
Following that series, Washington returned to Southern California, where he was placed on medical leave after undergoing a series of tests. Washington is currently the oldest manager in MLB.

“We’re beginning to see the character of our team steal (Ron Washington) personality,” Angels general manager Perry Minasian said in a statement. “There is some resilience, some toughness, and that’s exactly what Ron is.
“(The players) are going to go out there and play as hard as they play for Ron.”
Angels bench coach Ray Montgomery was filled for Washington when he first took medical leave, but was appointed interim manager.

Washington was hired by the Angels prior to the 2024 season, 103-140 in 243 games against the team. He was the manager of Texas Rangers In eight seasons (2007-2014), he recorded a record of 664-611.
He led the Rangers to back-to-back World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011 before resigning suddenly in September 2014.
The Angels are 40-41 in the season and have a 7-4 record at the helm of Montgomery.
