Thursday night didn’t work out well with the Chicago skies, and it certainly wasn’t a fun night Angel Wreath.
The sky rose against the ruler WNBA Champion New York Liberty fell 99-74. But it was a preview, a moment that occurred early in the game with a slightly microcosm Lease.

Less than three minutes into the game, Reese recorded five offensive rebounds in a span of 19 seconds thanks to her own mistakes.
Reese missed four shots from the bottom right of the basket, two of which were blocked. Reese eventually kicked out a pass to the KIA nurse, but she missed a 3-pointer, which the rebound lease couldn’t get.
The moment quickly went viral on social media, with many people teasing Lease – she even said “he hasn’t beat the allegations.”
The former LSU star averaged a double double last season, setting the WNBA record with the most rebounds of a season (injuries shortened her season and she surpassed A’ja Wilson). However, she is often criticized for missing layups and for her rebound statistics bulging to grab her rebound.

Reese lost all eight shot attempts in the evening, scoring just two points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
It was the first time since 2021 that she had not been able to make at least one basket and ended a streak of 136 games, college and experts.
Earlier in the season, Reese became the fastest player in WNBA history, with both 450 points and rebounds.
Meanwhile, New York set up a WNBA record with 19 three-pointers in the win (the ace of Las Vegas was once 22 in the playoff game). Of the nine Liberty players who attempted a three-pointer, eight got at least one deep. Natasha Cloud and Kennedy Burke each attacked four people.
New York shot 55% overall, earning 16 of 17 free throws. This is a comparison with the night of the lease.
