“American Pie” star Shannon Elizabeth She took her lifelong love for animals internationally, and in the process she found her purpose and her “soulmate.”
“I started charity in Los Angeles in 2001 as a dog rescue called the Animal Avengers. Elizabeth told Fox News Digital.
Eventually, he became the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation, which was founded after Starr first moved to New York in 2014, and began to learn about the world of rhino poaching and ivory trade and conservation. Along the way, she met people involved in her work. Many of them were from South Africa.
“And there was something that clicked inside me. It was actually something I saw on Instagram. It just turned the switch inside me, and this is what I need to do. These animals can become extinct in our lives and I feel this is the next generation of my charity.

She traveled herself and said, “I wanted to get closer to the problem. I want to be there. And I want to pack my bags a bit and move in. And I felt very fascinated by what I was going to do with the charity and I came here because I had an overview of people who had an overview of people who were in favour of Africa, and people who had an overview of people who were in favour of Africa. I was meeting people who lived here. I seem to be listening.
The Texas-born star said she loves to live “absolutely” South Africa However, there were some adjustments to be made.
“One thing I noticed was that you don’t have everything here at your fingertips. There’s no active Amazon here where you can order what you want.
“I became like MacGyver for things and I knew I could use it for something else, so it became all the little code I kept hugging,” she added with a laugh. “But I found it amazing because people really helped me. They really accepted me.”

The move also introduced Elizabeth to her now husband, Simon Bolchart. Conservation activists From Cape Town.
“I met him on my first trip, passing a friend. And once I moved here, mutual friends gathered us for lunch and started chatting. He grew up in protection. He can speak Afrikaans. This is one of the languages here.
“I felt it was amazing because people really helped me. They really embraced me.”
Elizabeth and Bolchart work together from home to save the foundation’s expenses and deal with the business side of philanthropy.
“It’s challenging, but being able to do it with someone who has the same dreams and the same goals and aspirations as the person you love is really, really rewarding,” she said. “That’s why we felt so lucky to find him from each other’s mirror images. We want the same thing, we are very aligned with everything we love in this universe, and I feel really lucky to find him.
