Twin sister Kilton Russell University of Alabama Freshman quarterback Kieron Russell passed away a few days after his brother graduated from high school, police confirmed in a statement Thursday. She was 18 years old.
Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Kierston confirmed in a statement that she had passed away, adding that an investigation into her death was “ongoing.”
“There was considerable media attention regarding the investigation into the death that occurred on June 4th, 2025 (in Tuscaloosa),” Colonel Jack Kennedy, of the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office violent crime unit, said in a statement obtained. Tuscaloosa News.

“After talking to family members and trying to quell media enquiries, they gave permission to confirm Kierston Russell’s death… The investigation is underway following the steps mentioned above and appears to be inherently non-criminal at this time.
