The war of words between presidents Donald Trump And Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, appears to be over, and there are signs of reconciliation.
However, new polls suggest that the recently created Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has erod Republican status by spending the first four months of Trump’s second administration as a special White House advisor.
62% of Republicans have positive opinions Billionaire CEO Musk Tesla and SpaceX, according to a Kinipiac University referendum released on Wednesday.
This is a 16 percentage point down from the Kinnipiac survey in March, when 78% of Republicans saw musk in a favorable way.
Trump says he’s open to reconciliation with Musk

Of all voters, 30% had a positive opinion of Musk, while 57% view him at a disadvantage. Mask’s positive opinion dropped six points from Quinnipiac’s March survey, with the unfavorable ratings being stable.
Musk joined Trump last summer and fall. He approved the then-GOP presidential candidate in July shortly after an attempt to assassinate Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump nominated Musk to pilot Doge shortly after the November election, and the president repeatedly praised Musk in formulating his headlines and causing controversy Tenure at Doge.
Musk broke out a few days after leaving the White House later last month. He called the administration’s massive landmark spending bill, which Trump calls his “big beautiful bill,” “a nasty and hateful.”
Musk also claimed that Trump could not win last year’s presidential election without all his support.

Trump and Musk exchanged fires in ferocious social media posts, and Musk even claimed without evidence that the government was hiding information about his relationship with infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Mask later deleted the post.
On Wednesday, Musk wrote on his frequently seen X account, “I regret some of my posts about President @RealdonaldTrump last week. They’ve gone too far.”
“That’s what happens. I won’t blame him at all,” Trump said in a podcast interview with the New York Post on Wednesday.
But when asked about Musk’s apology later that day when he spoke to reporters, the president said, “I really didn’t think much about it.”
During his months at Doge, Musk aimed to trim $2 trillion from the federal government’s budget, but it was far short.
According to a Quinnipiac poll, 38% of voters said Musk did a good or good job at Doge, while 57% described his tenure as being too good or poor.
However, 80% of Republicans asked him that Musk’s job was good or good. Only 13% consider their tenure at Doge to be that good or poor.

“Musk is not as popular with Republicans as they once were, but he and Doge have a heartfelt high five from the healthy majority of Republicans,” Quinnpiac University voting analyst Tim Malloy said in a statement.
Kinipiac Voting It took place between June 5th and 9th, and 1,265 registered voters across the country were raised in question. The overall sampling error for the study is either positive or negative 2.8 percentage points.
