Beach Boys founder and lead singer Brian Wilson has passed away. His family has been confirmed on social media. He was 82 years old.
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father, Brian Wilson,” they wrote. “We are at a loss for words right now.”
They said, “At this point, we should respect our privacy as our family is grieving. We will find ourselves sharing our grief with the world.”

Beach Boys We started with Brian and his two brothers, Carl and Dennis. Eventually they were joined by their cousin Mike Love and school friend Al Jaldin.
The band is one of the most commercially successful groups of all time, selling over 100 million records worldwide. They were introduced to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 1988.

The diagnosis, coupled with the death of Brian’s wife, Melinda Wilson, led his family and doctors to make a decision.
“After careful consideration and consultation between Brian, his beloved wife Melinda, after Brian, his seven children, Gloria Ramos and Brian’s doctors (and consistent with the family process that Brian and Melinda introduced), we are acknowledging that longtime Wilson family representatives Lee Anne Heard and Jean Sieber have confirmed their statement as a joint family association.
