Vivek Ramaswamy said he saw similarities in the California government. Gavin Newsom And another controversial Democratic governor who literally hinders the National Guard and has the ambitions of a famous president.
Newsom has “begun to resemble” former Alabama Gov. George Wallace in some aspects of his response to the Los Angeles riots, Ramaswamy claimed on Fox News Tuesday.Jesse Watters Primetime. ”
The Ohio governor candidate pointed out that Wallace, a lauded separatist who ran for the president four times, forced President John F. Kennedy’s hand by preventing black students from attending the University of Alabama.
“[Newsom’s] Actions are similar to what another Democratic governor does from our history. George WallaceGovernor of Alabama and was famous for hindering the federal separation,” Ramaswamy said.

“The similarities are actually pretty impressive. If you think about it, when you look at Democrat Governor George Wallace, he resisted separation. Gavin Newsom resisted deportation. George Wallace wanted a separation city. Gavin News wanted a sanctuary city. Playbook.”
The former Doge co-leader said that both Newsom and Wallace said “Dodge.”[d] Federal government and rall[ied] Extremists. ”
“What they both did is to really carve out their major democratic paths for their presidential ambitions,” he added.
“Gavin Newsom’s presidential ambition will end in the same place that George Wallace did: in the dustbin of history that it belongs to.”
In June 1963, Wallace prevented two black students (Vivian Malone and James Hood) from registering on the University of Alabama’s Tuscaloosa campus, making him “stand at the door of the school building.”
After Wallace refused an order to put Assistant Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach aside, he gave a pro-state light speech and was not upset.
Kennedy federalized the Yellowhammer State National Guard under the Rebellion Act. General Henry Graham personally confronted Wallace, who ultimately relented.
The following year, Wallace primed President Lyndon Johnson, particularly winning several northern states he targeted on the separatist platform, but was defeated by his incumbent.
In 1968 he again attempted the independent line of America. This split the Democratic vote, won five states and supported the ultimate Victor Richard Nixon. During the 1976 run he apologised for his support for past separations.
This week, Newsom opposed the president Donald Trump’s Federalization of the California State Guard and federalization, with 700 Marines deployed in Los Angeles to help respond to the riots.
Later Tuesday, Federal Judge Charles Breyer appointed by Clinton. Newsom’s request has been rejected Block Trump’s military deployment.
