Behavioral neurologist Dr. Bruce Miller follows Elon Musk’s update on the first human Neuralink patients and discusses the applications and concerns of brain chip technology.
Paradromics Inc. is developing a neural technology company. Brain Computer Interface Platform, After almost three years of preclinical research, the first human procedure was successfully completed.
The insertion of the company’s Connexus Brain-Computer interface was led by Dr. Matthew Wilsey of the University of Michigan by Dr. Orenthagur and an interdisciplinary team of clinicians and engineers. Brain computer interfaces are described as systems that contain direct communication paths between the brain and external devices.
To understand how epilepsy affects brain signaling, the device was implanted during epileptic resection surgery if the brain area causing the seizure was cut or removed. The success of the surgery highlighted how the device records electrical brain signals and removes them intact within 20 minutes.

As of April, three patients were taking it. Neuralink brain implants.
Paradromics CEO Matt Angle founded the company in 2015, thinking that a high data rate, high-liberation brain computer interface (BCI) could translate the scope and scale of brain health applications.

The company’s Connexus devices are designed to restore communication in people with severe motor disorders caused by conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), brainstem stroke, and spinal cord injury. The company’s platform utilizes artificial intelligence to convert brain signals into practical outputs. The company’s website develops the first high data rate BCI designed to provide high performance to its users, providing communication at natural speeds and the ability to replicate complex mouse and keyboard hand actions.

The company said it plans to begin clinical trials later this year to study the long-term use and safety of Connexus BCI. Pending regulatory approval.
