The nation’s largest police union has announced approval of the president’s key provisions Donald Trump– “Big and beautiful” budget invoice backed.
Police National Brotherhood Order (FOP) President Patrick Yos announced strong support for the bill on Wednesday evening, saying, ” “One Big Beautiful Bill Law” It’s more than the law. It is a promise kept by public safety officers across the country, and a bold step into an economy that respects, rewards, and exalts those who keep it safe. ”
Yos has expressed strong support for the bill’s two provisions: the tax credits on overtime salaries and the increased state and local tax (salt) credits.

Meanwhile, Republicans representing low-tax conditions are largely wary of raising the deduction cap, and believe it will encourage blue states. High Tax Policy.
R-Ga. Rep. Rich McCormick told Fox News that he hopes the Senate will address the salt deduction, saying it assumes the provision will add $385 billion to US deficit spending.
Yet Yoze said “the current limit on salt deductions will be unique and unfairly punished by law enforcement officials who often need to live within a certain distance in the jurisdiction they serve, collecting valuable mechanisms that allow for reduced living costs.”

He said the salt deductions are also a valuable way to support local budgets as law enforcement faces a set of financial challenges related to inflated costs of equipment, vehicles and personnel, particularly with regard to the ongoing recruitment and maintenance crisis.
