Aaron Rogers He remains a free agent, and the four-time MVP is still tied up by the Pittsburgh Steelers with rumors of free agency.
Steelers star linebacker Alex Highsmith said the Rogers rumors are not distracting for the team.
“I feel like I’m just in the locker room or something, we’re there. I think that’s really what it is at this point,” Highsmith said during his appearance. NFL Network’s “Insider” Thursday.

“If he signs, we’ll definitely be really excited to have him. We know who he is. He’s a Hall of Fame quarterback. He’s one of the best people to do that. I’m not saying it’s a distraction, but we know what type of quarterback he is and what he brings to the table.”
Steelers Last season, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields acquired Fields as their starting quarterbacks all season, 10-7. But both Wilson and Fields set out for free agency.

The Steelers have three quarterbacks on their roster – Mason RudolphSkylar Thompson and six-round draft pick Will Howard. Highsmith is excited for anyone with a team quarterback in their first week.
“I think we’re just trying to put our best feet forward every day, like who’s in the building right now. I know Mason there, he’s done a great job.
“The way he helped us finish us in 2023 was amazing. No matter who comes back for us, whether it’s him or Aaron Rodgers coming, I’m just excited. Anyone who comes back there is going to gather behind them.

With the Jets last season, Rodgers threw for 3,987 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 games.
It remains to be seen whether Rodgers decided to play in 2025 or if he will retire after a 20-year career tied to Canton.
Highsmith has scored 35.5 sacks in 77 career games in five seasons with the Steelers, making him a key cog in their defense.
