president Donald TrumpThe American Healthy Commission released a predicted report assessing chronic diseases that have attracted American youth in recent years, cementing responsibility for many variables ranging from ingesting chemicals to increasing prescription drugs for young children due to the spikes of childhood problems.
“A century after a cost- and ineffective approach, the federal government will lead the coordinated transformation of food, health and science systems,” the report was released Thursday and reviewed by Fox News Digital. “This strategic reorganization ensures that all Americans (the Todai and the future) have a longer, healthier life supported by systems that prioritize prevention, happiness and resilience.”
Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He chaired the committee and attended a call with the media early on Thursday. He explained that the report is a “diagnosis” of US health status and that “prescriptions” for ongoing issues will be released at the end of August in the form of federal policy recommendations.
The report’s findings include teen depression, which nearly doubled between 2009 and 2019. Autism up to age 8and since 1975, pediatric cancer has increased by 40%.

“Over 40% of approximately 73 million children (ages 0-17) in the United States have at least one chronic health condition, including asthma, allergies, obesity, autoimmune diseases, or behavioral disorders,” the report states. “Estimates vary depending on the conditions included, but all studies have shown an astonishing increase over time,” the report states.
Chronic diseases have a calm impact on national security, committee members said in a call with the media on Thursday morning. Approximately 75% of American youths aged 17-24 are not eligible to serve the military. Obesity, asthma, Allergies, autoimmune diseases or behavioral disorders, they said.
“We now have the obese, depressed, disability, medicinal population in the history of the world. We cannot continue on the same path,” Food and Drug Commissioner Marty McCurry said in a call with the media. “So this is a great day. I hope this marks an epic pivot from a system that is completely recoiled into a system that is now becoming aggressive.”

The report itself pointed to a few variables that led to what Kennedy and other Trump administration leaders called the “chronic disease crisis.” Exposure to environmental chemicals such as pesticides and microplastics in consumed foods. Like the changes in culture that children moved outside to glue to their phones and tablets.
“Children in America are taking very medicines – and it’s not working,” added a report on another fluctuation that exacerbates chronic health problems.
The report found a surge in prescription drugs for prescription drugs prescribed to children in recent history, including a 250% increase in prescriptions for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder disorder between 2006 and 2016, despite scientific evidence that prescriptions “did not improve long-term outcomes,” and increased by 1,400% between 1987 and 2014 due to an 800% increase in patient anti-patient regulations for patients in 1993 and 2014.

“These time trends are significantly outweighing the moderate increases seen in other developed countries,” the report found. “Psychotropic drugs for ADHD are prescribed 2.5 times more than UK children and 19 times more than Japanese youth. Therefore, the crisis of overdiagnosis and overtreatment in children is empirically evident and proportionately specific to American youth.”
The report details that fluoride, a fluoride, a water additive frequently used to protect teeth from decay and cavities, has been found to have a statistically significant association between exposure to fluoride above recommended levels and a decline in children’s IQ levels. The report stated that the EPA could review fluoride data and enact a “revision of federal drinking water standards.”
By 2022, over 60% of Americans (more than 70% of public water systems) were consuming fluorinated water, the report says.
A 2025 systematic review published in Jama Pediatrics analyzed 74 high-quality studies and found a statistically significant association between exposure to fluoride above the recommended level and reduced IQ levels in children. The EPA is currently conducting a review of additional research informing you of potential revisions to federal drinking water standards.
Director of the National Institutes of Health Jay Bhatacharya shared at a press conference that the report highlights that the next generation of American children are not healthier than their parents and will lead shorter lives if they don’t deal with it.
“The next generation of children will live a shorter life than their parents,” he said. “For me as a parent, it’s absolutely shocking. Anything means It’s happening to our kidsThe food they eat, the environmental exposure they face, the medicine they take to deal with the fact that they are sick, does not translate into making them healthier. And in fact, they are less healthy than their parents were the same age. ”

“Despite healthcare spending per capita, the US continues to have a life expectancy in high-income countries, with a higher rate of obesity, heart disease and diabetes,” the report states.
Trump officials stressed that the US food system is “100% safe,” but could be even healthier, with a shift from “ultra-highly processed foods” that contain sugar, chemical additives and saturated fats.

Kennedy added that the “overall” review of US health related to children includes promoting a strong economy, saying “weak economy kills people.”
The report “represents an invitation to the Americans and the American press to have complicated conversations on nuanced subjects, such as environmental policies, good economic policies and good public health policies ultimately 100% aligned,” Kennedy said in the report.
“The reason for this is that the strong economy is a social determinant of public health, especially the reason for public health,” he continued. “The weak economy kills people. They make people sick. Large public deaths make people sick. These are all social determinants. And we’ve learned that you can’t isolate the economy from public health policies.”
