Denzel Washington denied that he skipped the event at Cannes Film Festival After he had a nervous encounter with a photographer on the red carpet on Monday.
“It’s not true,” the “Gladiator II” star rep told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “He’s always going to and from Cannes and arrived and left on Monday between Othello’s performances on Broadway. It was a great night at the Cannes Film Festival.”
The 70-year-old is starring Othello on Broadway Until next month. The film festival at the luxury resort town of the French Riviera begins last week and continues until this weekend.
The report surfaced that Washington “skip” a press conference with the cast for his new Spike Lee film, “Up to 2” on Tuesday morning after an argument with the photographer.

It was reported that the festival has changed some of its schedules to accommodate his “Othello” performance.
A video obtained by Fox News Digital shows Washington angered his fingers on Petrou’s face and placed them on the photographer’s face.
In the video, Washington screams “stop” when he approaches the man, and the photographer laughs at Washington’s remarks. When he went away from the group of photographers, it seemed that the man had grabbed the actor with his arm.

This has made Washington a frenzy.
“Stop it!” cried Washington. “Stop!”
Washington was later surprised by the honor of honor after the argument.

Before Washington’s latest film premiered, festival chief Tierry Fremaux shared some kind words with the crowd about the actor.

“It’s a very special day. Denzel, you’re here, so we want to make something special for you. …It’s a kind of way to tell you what we worship, what we did in the cinema. Spike Leewho wrote me to do it,” Fremaux said. According to the deadline.
Lee approached the stage and awarded Washington the award.

“To come here again in Cannes, we are a very privileged group in this room so we can make movies, wear tuxedos and nice clothes, dress up and pay for it,” added Washington. “You know, we are immeasurably blessed. I am blessed beyond measurement. I am so grateful from the bottom of my heart. Thank you very much.”
