New England Patriots Defensive tackle Christian Barmore was hit hard last year when he was diagnosed with a blood clot.
His The 2024 season has been shortenedhowever, the 2021 second round pick received great news on Thursday.
Barmore was cleared for football activities, paving the way for him to return to Gridiron later this year.

Barmore will be a full participant in Voluntary Organizational Team Activities (OTA) next week.
“Yeah, that’s the goal. I need to keep following the medical team, but everything is really visible,” Barmore said.
Barmore was first diagnosed with a blood clot in July, but he was able to get it Return to the field November. However, he was only able to play in just four games before hitting the non-football illness list.
“It was one of the most difficult times. I felt like I wanted to do everything on my own and come back,” Barmore said via ESPN. “I don’t want to be that situation again, or anyone in the world going through it. It was no joke. It was a difficult challenge.”

“I feel good, feel confident in myself, get back to breathing. “I’m really blessed.”
He spent his third season of breakouts with the Patriots in 2023, garnering a career-high 8.5 sacks and 64 total tackles in 17 games.
The Patriot is why he signed him on a four-year extension worth up to $92 million, including the $41.8 million guaranteed at the time of signing before he began. The final year of his rookie contract.

The team has dealt with players who get blood clots in the past. The David Andrews Center, a longtime veteran of the organization, was diagnosed with a blood clot in his lungs in 2019. Andrews eventually returned to play in 2020.
