St. Sill said the conversation with Hudson was about media scrutiny that came to the pageant they received.
“We had a conversation behind the scenes and they said, ‘The media wasn’t necessarily kind to us.’ We talked about how we handled it, how we moved forward, how we remain positive, when we would comment, and not comment. “I think about this a lot because there are massive escapes for fishermen occurring in rural Maine, and I don’t want to see more fishermen leaving this place,” she said. “As your next Miss Maine America, I insist on going to the community… I will go to the government and defend these people so that they don’t have to think of these people as moments of the past.”
