It’s a competition, but it’s important to remember that these are also teammates who are chasing the same goal. To win the Super Bowl.
After a stint with the New York Jets, who was third overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, Darnold had to bounce back multiple teams and compete for the position he was with the Minnesota Vikings last season. Even there, Darnold fought to win the starting quarterback role, and he won his place this offseason to choose his next team in free agency.
Darnold looked particularly back with the Carolina Panthers, where Baker Mayfield, the player he chose twice before in the 2018 draft, was his main competition in 2022.

“I was in a quarterback competition in my second year with Baker in Carolina. Me and Baker are still really close to us. “It wasn’t clear who got one or two reps that day. But when our number was called, whether it was me or baked, it was like, ‘It’s okay, go there.’
“Then, in the individual drills of the day, if I had got one rep, Bake could take me like a Christian. [McCaffrey] A DJ Moore on the route or on the route. It was always that respect. Then, if it was turned over, if Bake had taken the rep for 1, I had him take everyone he was planning to run that day.
“I think it’s just about respecting the people in the quarterback room, whether it’s Chedur or someone else, and helping everyone get better. That’s the biggest thing at this point in the season and helping everyone get better.
For now, Sanders could launch a 2025 campaign for the Browns in the centre of the first week. The time to make the light of how he waits on his wings fall into the national spotlight.

When that moment comes, Darnold wants Sanders to think of his team first.
“As Bake nodded in the first week, I said, “I’m here for you. Whatever you need, if you want to see a tape of a Blitz package that a particular third down look or defense might have, I’m here for you,” Darnold said. “It’s that way in the quarterback room and there’s nothing to simulate that in the real world.”
Celebrating the next generation of trade workers
While Darnold is acquiring his bearings in his new city, he has confirmed that he will stop by the Seattle Store Ceremony at Skills National Sign Day, a celebration that reflects the excitement of athletic signatures for future electricians, plumbers, HVAC technology and builders.
Lowes unfolded for all students with a blue carpet for students who were surprised by Seattle’s latest soccer star. His father, Mike, has been a plumber for over 30 years.

“It was incredible,” Darnold said of the experience. “I’ve seen the hard work he took on it in his life, so you can see these kids, see the efforts they’ve already put in and meet them and talk to them about the path they’re heading and how passionate they’re about.
“I think there are more opportunities in the world of skill trading. Me and my dad are talking about it. This means that there aren’t many kids doing it anymore. You can influence the community so that kids don’t even know they’re not even aware of it.”
New ADP data shows that as of May 2023, one in five workers aged 20 to 24 had blue-collar jobs. The US faces a shortage of 439,000 construction workers, despite an increase of 2% since 2019.
