The former Texas star and his agent, Ron Slavin, have been opened Go to ESPN For a talk about his draft slide. Slavin made clear what they think as hours and minutes were ticked during the draft. He said he thought Ewors would have a good chance to land on the second day with the Raiders and Seattle Seahawks in Las Vegas.
Slavin said he spoke to two teams before the seventh round began – the Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys. That’s when Miami finally took him. Slavin told ESPN he reached out from “half of the league” to see why his client was projected from round four to round seven.
“They thought he was his third or fourth pick, but the name was too big to be a clipboard holder,” he said. “I think this is a chicken…”

Ewers said they’ll use the draft as a little fuel.
“That’s definitely a lot of motivation that comes with it, especially it was just the last (quarterback) draft,” Ewers said. “I still have high expectations of myself, but it’s the first time in my life that I’ve never had that much to look outside. There’s definitely motivation and fuel. A lot of that.”
Ewers was one of the top quarterbacks in high school when he first committed to Ohio State. He transferred to Texas before the 2022 season, where he spent the rest of his career.
