
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director Jay Bhattacharya recently announced on Fox News that she has closed her last in-house Beagle Institute on the NIH campus.
The announcement will be made a few days after the government’s Faculty of Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk I posted to X that he investigated that he would fund the Beagle experiment.
A report from the White Coat Waste (WCW) project detailed the history of the lab, which allegedly caused pneumonia to pump bacteria into the lungs of over 2,000 beagles, bleeding them, and forced them into septic shock for fatal experiments.
Following the announcement, WCW president and founder Anthony Belotti praised the president Donald Trump To finish a highly scrutinized project.

“Taxpayers and pet owners should not be forced to pay for NIH beagle abuse,” Berotti wrote in a statement. “We praise the President for cutting this useless NIH spending and will continue to fight until we refund all dog labs at home and abroad. The solution is simple: stop the money. Stop the madness!”

Bhattacharya said People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) reached out to him and sent flowers to him following the closure of the Beagle Testing Facility.
“I think that normally the NIH directors tend to get physical threats, but they sent me flowers,” Bhatacharya aired.

After the report was released, 23 bipartisan lawmakers, including those in charge. Nancy MaceRs.C. sent a letter to the flora and fauna dealing with the tragic experiment.
“Yesterday I wrote to Dr. Faussy about a cruel, taxpayer-funded experiment on puppies. I’ll de-de-before I drag them and kill them,” Mace wrote in X’s October post. “I don’t like this.
Kathy Guillermo, Senior Vice President of PETA at Laboratory Investigations, told Fox News Digital on Sunday night that the organization was “pleased” with the news of the NIH facility closure.
“We are letting the new NIH director know how important this step is to modernize science. These last experiments are particularly happy as they are related to the sepsis we have been working on to close for several years. Sepsis experiments on animals have been a failure.”
Guillermo noted that PETA has pending lawsuits filed under the Biden administration to prevent the government from funding any further sepsis experiments.
