Sanderson filed a $3.1 million lawsuit against the actress, Deer Valley Resort and the ski instructor who was offering lessons to the film. Moses, son of Paltrow At the time of the incident.
The judge dismissed the allegation, and Deer Valley Resort and instructors were removed from the lawsuit.

Sanderson then sued Paltrow for $300,000. She rebutted for $1 Lawyer’s fees.
In 2023, Paltrow won the court battle after the ju judge ruled that she was not negligent.
After the trial, Paltrow explained why she chose to “do the right thing” and fight.

“That’s what I was just focused on,” Paltrow said. “It was a fierce experience. I believe in life that if you believe in God, the universe, etc., we believe that we are always in the place where we are supposed to be. And we don’t need to understand that.”

“I really believe in fighting for the right thing,” she said. “But I think I’m a pigeon of sorts when something is terrible and when there’s an opportunity to change the culture of women, when things happen in my life.”
