
Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared to ease expectations for a massive peace deal between Ukraine and Russia on Sunday.
Made by Rubio A statement during a Sunday morning appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” tells host Kirsten Welker that the deal is “not there yet.”
“We have made real progress, but the final couple’s steps on this journey have always been the most difficult,” Rubio said. “It needs to happen soon. Like I said, if it doesn’t happen, we can’t devote our time and resources to this issue.”
“Last week was about figuring out how close these aspects are, and this is close enough to deserve a continuous investment of our time as a mediator in this respect,” he added.

Rubio argued that it was “silly” to put in a specific date or timeline where the US could withdraw from mediation, but he said this would be a “very important week.”
Zelenskyy will speak out after the release with Trump, Vance is “bad for both parties,” says Dustup.
“This week is going to be a very important week. We need to decide whether this is an effort we want to continue to be involved in, or if it’s time to focus on other issues that are not equally important, if not important, in some cases,” he said.

“Russia is always available for dialogue,” Lavrov added.

When asked if there would be a meeting between Trump and Putin, Lavrov said the two presidents were “masters of their own destiny and their own schedule.”
