His ex-son, Aliya Arenas NBA Stargilbert Arena reportedly emerged from his induced coma about 24 hours after being involved in a serious car accident.
The 18-year-old arena remained intubated, but the development of his recovery is “surprisingly hopeful,” a family member at the arena said. TMZ Sports.
According to the report, the arena was traveling Tesla Cybertock in Los Angeles before 5am Thursday.

Arenas’ family shared a statement from one of the people who helped him out of the car after the shipwreck.
“I remember hearing him knock on the car window, but the smoke was so thick I couldn’t see anything,” the person said. TMZ Sports.

Arenas was one of the top-ranked shooting guards in the 2026 class and was recently reclassified as a senior who graduated from high school in 2025 and was able to go to college a year ago.
His father, Gilbert Arenas, played for 12 seasons in the NBA. He was a three-time All-Star and spent eight seasons. Washington Wizardtwo seasons with the Golden State Warriors, one season with the Orlando Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies.
