With the actual ID deadline approaching, many Americans have struggled to book appointments to get new documents, especially in New Jersey.

“NJMVC handles in-person transactions, particularly the number of actual ID records, and continues to assess operations and capacity each week, and is trying to add schedules of actual IDs whenever possible,” the spokesman added.

For Americans who don’t have a passport and cannot get a DMV reservation in time, Select AAA Branches offers an actual ID service.
A spokesman for the AAA told Fox News Digital that Real ID Services differ across the country and is available in six states. New Jersey is not on that list.
“Some AAA branches that provide DMV services can also issue their actual IDs. We recommend calling your local AAA branch and calling your local AAA branch office to determine if these services are available,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman said, “This process is the same as a DMV, but it could result in greater access to appointments at AAA branches. It may vary from location to location, but in some cases these services are only available to AAA members.”
Two proof of resident’s address, one proof of Social Security number, and six id points are required at booking.

“No one in New Jersey can get a reservation for an actual ID,” the user posted to X.
