“I definitely have the privilege,” she said on Netflix, “My next guest doesn’t need a referral.” “I’m obviously white, but I’m someone who grew up being a huge fan of this league.
“A lot of black women who grew up making this league. It’s like the shoulders we stand on. So, I think that’s something I know so much and I’m very grateful for. And they definitely deserve all the credit and we can do better for them.
Clark responded Letterman Questions On whether she felt like she was being targeted for white people.
“I don’t think I was targeted,” Clark said.
The WNBA Rookie of the Year said in a few months of interviews she has “privileged” after several of her league colleagues expressed her belief that popularity played a factor in her popularity.

“I want to say I’ve acquired everything, but as a white person I have the privilege,” Clark told time. “A lot of the players in the league that were really good were black players, and this league is built on top of them.
“The more you can emphasize that and talk about it, the more you can then continue to invest this league in brands and businesses with incredible players. I think that’s very important. We have to keep trying to change that. If we can raise black women, it’s beautiful.”
Clark’s popularity has become a problem that enters the 2025 season as it has been hit with 41 nationwide games.

“Obviously people want to see Kaitlyn play. And you have to put people on TV that people want to watch. But at the same time, there are stars throughout the league and you want good basketball too,” Collier told ESPN. “Obviously Indiana is going to be a great team, but I think it’s a bit crazy to not have a defending champion on TV.”
