An Israeli man who arrived in Tel Aviv from Thailand was reportedly caught with 186 exotic animals in his suitcase.
According to Israeli authorities, the suspect, a man in his 20s from Bnei Brak, was reported by customs inspectors at Ben Gurion Airport (BGA), as first reported by Israel’s TPS-IL news agency on Thursday. The news was posted on the government’s Customs and Immigration website.

Authorities are working to return the animals to their country of origin.

These types of incidents reportedly occur from time to time. A similar incident was reported at the same airport in July, when an individual attempted to smuggle nearly 140 exotic reptiles and arthropods into the country.
