jennifer lopez She has opened up about why her recent divorce turned out to be the “best thing” for her.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show,” the 56-year-old actress and singer discussed her 2024 divorce from Ben Affleck and detailed what she learned from the divorce.
“The last time I got divorced, it was the best thing that happened to me,” she explained. “Because that really set me on a journey. I mean, I had a religious coach, I had a therapist, I had a couples therapist, I had a personal therapist, I had an addiction understanding coach. I had everything. I was like, ‘If it’s going to kill me, I’m going to figure this out.’
The “Hustlers” star has been married four times, most famously to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014 and to Affleck from 2022 to 2024.

Asked by Stern if she felt “really loved,” Lopez answered “no,” but said she knows what it means to truly love someone. She also said that part of the reason she feels that way is “because I don’t love myself.”
“What I learned is not that I can’t love, it’s that they’re not capable. … They don’t have it,” she added, “and they gave me what they had. They always gave me everything. The ring, everything I wanted. A house, a ring, a marriage. Everything. But…”

“My mom and my dad, my own life, how I learned to love, how I felt ignored, everything that goes through my head as a person, and who I am, and I’m really grateful for that person,” she explained. ”[I] I feel really comfortable and good about being myself, including all the good parts and complexities. ”
