former NBA Guard Ben McLemore was sentenced to 100 months on Wednesday after being convicted of raping a 21-year-old woman in Oregon in 2021.
Ju judge Clackamas County Circuit Court McLemore, 32, was found guilty last week on one count of first-degree rape, one count of first-degree unlawful sexual intrusion, and one count of second-degree sexual abuse. He was found not guilty of the additional charge of second sexual abuse.
McLemore, who pleaded not guilty to all four counts, did not attend court Wednesday while his sentence was read by him.

“Many people are often afraid to report this type of conduct for a number of reasons,” Clackamas County First District Attorney Scott Healy said in a statement, according to ESPN.
“Hopefully, the strength and courage of the victim in this case gives others the courage to advance in situations where sexual assault occurs. The sentences received by the defendant today should serve as a reminder that this type of conduct is not tolerated in our community, and that the Clackamas County DA office always works hard to hold the attackers accountable.”

The incident occurred on Lake Oswego. Oregonin October 2021, when McLemore was identified as a suspect by authorities after the woman’s complaint.
The woman appeared on video on Wednesday and read the statement aloud for the court.
“This has been almost four years of my life. I never imagined that reporting this in 2021 would lead to such an incredibly difficult and long journey,” she said according to ESPN. “The last few years feel like the weight I had to drag myself behind me, and this has been a constant reminder of the trauma I had not been able to fully cooperate with.

In February 2024, the Clackamas County large ju judge listened to evidence in the case, including the testimony of a woman who said McLemore had assaulted her. McLemore was arrested two months later by a former US S.
During the trial, Healy told the ju judge that the woman died on a living room sofa around 2am after drinking a lot. She regains partial consciousness the next morning when McLemore has penetrated sexually and then has sex with her.
McLemore’s team of lawyers challenged the claim, saying she had commenced sexual contact and agreed to it. The lawyer also argued that women were so calm that they agreed to sexual contact.

A Kansas product, McLemore played nine seasons in the NBA and five seasons with the Sacramento Kings.
He bouncing back towards the league last, playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and, lastly, for the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2021-22 season.
