Grace Hunt’s daughter Kansas City Chiefs Owners Clark and Tavia Hunt lamented the loss of their nine-year-old relative who died in a devastating Texas flood over the weekend.
Johnny Hunt was one of dozens of children Camp Mystic People who died in the flood. She was only nine years old. Gracie Hunt posted a heartbreaking message on Instagram as catastrophic news continued to flow from the county where Camp Mystic was located.

“It’s hard to understand how the world can hold both beauty and pain one day. Can the same God who creates stars and moves the planets allow such deep suffering? The truth lives in a broken world – moans for red,” she wrote, citing a passage from the Romans. “But the Bible promises that one day, Christ will make everything new: a new heaven and a new earth (2 Peter 3:13).
“My heart hurts for our extended family and friends who have lost my daughter – all the lives lost, and all the families have been crushed by the floods of Texas. I don’t have a simple answer, but I know this: Following Jesus will not spare us out of pain, but that means we will never face it.
“Even in the darkest valleys, we hope this is not the end of the story.”

Flash floods have killed more than 100 people in the state. In Kerr County, home to Texas Hill Country youth camp, searchers found 84 bodies, including 28 children, officials said Monday.
At Camp Mystic, 10 girls and a counselor were not yet explained.

“We’re in touch with Governor Abbott and we’re very close to Governor Abbott, and everyone in Texas, as you know, is there, we’re there and we’re very close to our Texas representatives,” Trump said.
