However, soccer and basketball are very different sports, and even if they run another final in 2026, the Pacers are not at risk at Halliburton.
Halliburton signed the largest extension with Indiana for five years in 2023, marking him as one of the cornerstones for accumulation for years to come. This move makes a lot of sense given what Halliburton can do for Pacers during the regular season, especially during the postseason.

The Halliburton heroes came along with a clutch shot throughout this year’s NBA playoffs after taking a shot when Indiana won the Eastern Conference, which was daunting to say the least.
But of course, Halliburton wasn’t considering winning a pacer in Game 7 of the Finals after suffering an injury. He wanted his team to finish the job without him, but Shy Gilgaus Alexander and the Company eventually won it all.
“Man. I don’t know how to explain anything other than shock. Words can’t express this pain of disappointment. The frustration is immeasurable. I have worked my whole life to reach this moment.
“I wish I could count the number of times people say “I’m coming back strong” since I had surgery. Cliché lol, this is amazing. My legs feel like a family of dead weight.
