BYU Quarterback Jake Letzraff is planning to transfer because he believes that a seven-game suspension is coming from school due to an honor code violation resulting from allegations of sexual assault against him.
Retzlaff has only one year remaining in graduate school eligibility. ESPN reported His intention to go elsewhere for the 2025 college football season.
The Salt Lake Tribune reported Retchraff’s predictions for a long halt from BYU, run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Engaging in consensual premarital sex is a violation of BYU’s honor code. This is a strict set of rules that tell students to “live a chaste and integral life,” according to the Tribune.
Retzlaff is not a Mormon, but the Honor Code applies to all students registered with BYU.
A woman, known as Jane Doe AG, accused Retzlaff of sexually assaulting her in a lawsuit filed in May. Retzlaff is sued for battery, assault and intentional infringement of intentional emotional distress in November 2023 for alleged incidents in his apartment.

Retzlaff, 22, has not been criminally charged.
According to the lawsuit, the Salt Lake City woman alleges she met Retzlaff via social media before agreeing to visit him in his apartment to play video games. All ESPN.
The lawsuit states that the two began kissing, but Retzlaff ignored her request to stop and continued to “escalate the situation.”

The original complaint alleged that Letzraff placed his hand around the woman’s neck and raped him after trying to leave his apartment on each ESPN. However, in a new filing on Friday, Retchraff denied the allegations, claiming that the two are engaged in consensual sex.
“Mr. Retzlaff specifically and explicitly denies all allegations that he was bitten, raped or strangled. [the woman]”A lawyer for Retzlaff wrote via ESPN, it’s a ridiculous and strange allegation, everything is false and not true.”
Retzlaff’s lawyers also accused women of being horrifying, claiming that the quarterback has never heard of them from women in more than a year. However, now that he is “NFL Draft Outlook,” the lawsuit is being announced. USA TODAY I reported it cited Friday’s application.

Retzlaff moved to BYU in 2023 and led the way in 2024 with a 11-2 record for the Cougars.
It is unclear where Retzlaff will be transferred, or which teams are interested in him this year.
