Israeli archaeologists Recently I discovered a scene familiar to many people today: an ancient stone co- portraying a drinking game.
The Israeli Ancient Bureau (IAA) announced its discovery in a Facebook post on June 9th.
Roman stone co, Or ffin was discovered in an archaeological site in the ancient capital, Caesaria. The discovery is the first of its kind in Israel.

Photos from the site show the archaeologists glow next to the discoveries the IAA described as “magnificent.”

“In the center, we see Dionysus, the god of wine. Around him are active servants of many mythological characters, such as Maenado (a female follower of Dionysus), Satel, Hermes, Pan, Lion, and Tiger,” the IAA statement read.
Archaeologists were not sure what the entire scene was portrayed until the stone co was handed over to the IAA conservation team that assembled the fragments.

“Thanks to the restoration, the scene was fully revealed,” the IAA said.
IAA archaeologists likened the discovery to a “movie scene.”

“We began to remove the soft, light sand from the dunes. When the tip of a marble object suddenly floats,” archaeologists Nohar Shahar and Shani Amit were quoted as saying.

” The whole excavation team When we stood up excitedly and cleaned more sand, we couldn’t believe what we were seeing – a piece of plaster, an image was carved on it: God, animals, trees. ”

The pair said, “Each of the discovered fragments was more impressive than the previous ones… [including] The entire intact side of the stone co buried in the sand has been revealed. ”

So who won? Drinking contest?
Israeli officials have revealed the answer – this is pretty unsurprising.

“The state of Hercules depicted in Sarcocas is depicted as a man who can no longer stand, pointing to the obvious answer: Dionysus,” said Shahar.
Shahar also pointed out that this was the first time Dionysus Herchur’s drinking scene was discovered at a burial in Israel.
It is “part of our commitment to making the nation’s past legacy accessible.”

IAA director Eli Escusido also said that the stone co reflects the perception of ancient Rome Life and faith.

“Stone Co is undergoing a meticulous conservation process, which will allow us to present it to the general public as part of our commitment to making the nation’s past legacy accessible once completed,” the official said.
