Tellez mashed a line drive that came back directly to where he returned directly and came out of the bat with a scintillating 106.6 mph.
Essentially there was no time to respond, and the ball hit the edge of Smith’s hat, narrowly evading a serious injury by the right-hander.
As Cap broke the speed of Teles’ hits, it flowed into the outfield and it was enough for him to reach second in a double.
However, Smith was not completely at fault as he hit the next batter and finished the inning.

Teles had a scor hybrid early in the game, covering Homer at the 107.3 mph exit velo. His average exit speed is 91.3 mph, ranking in the 80th percentile among qualified batters.
Cleveland fell 35-33 with losses. They are currently sitting in 9.5 games behind the Detroit Tigers.
